Nissan of Clinton is proud to serve Raleigh, North Carolina, our beautiful state capital and the home of various educational, cultural, and historic sites. First incorporated in 1792, Raleigh has been through the Civil War, houses the first historically black college in the South, and is the birthplace of President Andrew Johnson. Whether you live in Raleigh, you’re planning to move here, or you just want to pay a visit, you’ll never run out of history to explore and fun things to do in the area.
If you like museums, you’re in luck, because Raleigh has plenty, from art museums to science to history. The North Carolina Museum of Art has a huge variety of shows and programs for all ages. The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and the Museum of History are located right next to each other downtown, so you can make an easy daytrip out of it.
Raleigh is also a fantastic place to go for performing arts—whether you want to see a play, a ballet, or live music, Raleigh has you covered. You can see performances year-round at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts and the Carolina Ballet. Listen to a symphony performance at the North Carolina Symphony or catch a concert at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek.
Art and history aren’t all you’ll find in Raleigh, though. Outdoorsy people will love the lush parks, the proximity to the ocean, and the many arboretums and gardens throughout the city. Pullen Park and the JC Raulston Arboretum at North Carolina State University are local favorites.
Since Raleigh is a college town, there’s no shortage of sports games to go to throughout the year, from hockey games at the PNC Arena to NCSU football games at Carter-Finley Stadium. Raleigh has plenty of sports bars to watch from, too.
Whether you’re visiting with kids or you’re here for a weekend getaway, there’s something in Raleigh for everyone, from amazing nightlife with plenty of breweries, wineries, and food tours to activities for kids like the Marbles Kids Museum. We hope you’ll stop by soon!
